NETWORKING THE NETWORKABLE (Lending The Proverbial Helping Hand)

Go Ahead! Make your day. Get out there and do some meaningful networking!

Go Ahead! Make your day. Get out there and do some meaningful networking!

THE ESSENCE OF THIS WEBSITE:

Apart from the usual social media outlets, such as TwitterMySpaceFacebook, and a plethora of others, there is another form of networking that offers other advantages for those involved in the process. This rknetworking site is a prime example. Its main focus promotes a list of nonprofit organizations touting a pro conservationists ethic as well as the political and social scenes. Among the list are also a relative few enterprises. However, the featured websites on this site are chosen for a specific reason: each fosters a “green” light based on environmental sustainability. This motif includes the protection of all creatures great and small, especially wildlife and marine life. Moreover, these organizations provide an interactive/proactive means to help raise consciousness to a higher level. Namely, to remind all of us we only have one Mother Earth. Think of it this way: If we can’t help sustain her, then we can’t sustain ourselves.

Kindly Note: Below each site’s logo is an embedded URL that connects to the site’s home page (once clicked). Feel free to contact these organizations and enterprises and let them know how you got there (via this freebie networking site). One hand always washes the other, you see. If you like this site (rknetworking) and its intended purpose, please mention it on your favorite social network sites.

Thanks for being a good networking neighbor! Share your humanity by paying it forward. We owe it to future generations that are waiting in the wings of time to have their go at life and its process.

CONGRESSIONAL VOTING DATABASE

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/112/

Why this website? Because we all put our faith and trust, indeed our lives, in the hands of Congress. It makes sense to see how these officials vote on various bills. By dropping in on this site from time to time the results of congressional voting is there to read or weep as the case may be. TALK NEVER COOKS THE RICE! Ergo, we hear a lot of hoopla in this election year, not only from presidential candidates, including Mr. Obama, but those who vote on what may become federally mandated laws. . .or not.

Thus, here is a reminder to us all that a democracy works best when citizens participate in the process. The elected officials will not do what we hope they will do if someone isn’t monitoring what the foxes are doing in the proverbial hen house. If there is a particular interest in any congressional bill, and if you want to see how your representative or senator voted on the matter, then here is the site to find out who’s on your side or opposes your views.

Finally, let me remind you what we all need to be told, almost daily: If we don’t express our views in the political process through proper channels, if we don’t let our congressional figureheads know what we think and feel, then we have no one to blame for what happens in this country as laws that are either passed or defeated. A nation is only as good as the people who are behind their elected officials. Hence, WE THE PEOPLE really do have a say in how this country is run. We may have to fight like hell to get our voices heard, but it’s worth the effort. Let’s support the democratic process by being democratic. This is what the power of voting is really all about.

THE NEW MEXICO STAR GROUP

nmstarg.com

NMSTARG’S MISSION IS SPACE TOURISM AND MINING LUNAR GOLD.
(And That’s Just The Initial Stage And Planning Concept!)

Business Description:

An innovative aerospace ideal using reusable rocketry to and from the moon (for starters), utilizing every aspect of a launch mission (reusable orbiters), whose chief purpose is retrieving a priceless lunar material in bulk amounts, ensuring a high-profit investor’s margin. A secondary aspect is relatively inexpensive passenger shuttle tourism.

Initially, we plan earth orbit missions up to five days, then to the moon. The cost is minimal and offers a much longer mission in space compared to current offerings. Because NMSTARG oversees every facet of it operation, including launching missions here in New Mexico, we see no competition in this field. The investor’s payback, alone, is staggering, including the allotted timeframe (up to three years).

Company Background Summary:

NMSTARG is an aerospace technology research company that is tasked with creating a comprehensive space program using off-the-shelf technology paid for by the extraction of lunar commodities.

Although the owner of NMSTARG conceived his aerospace mission many years ago, the decision to market the company was made in 2012. In view of the timely announcements of other and slightly similar endeavors, NMSTARG decided against a niche market scheme. Instead, the plan was to formulate a complete aerospace ideal, a Gestalt approach, covering every aspect of space exploration, with the immediate goal of mining on the moon. The operation, when funded, is currently estimated in an approximate three-year envelope, and not the eight to ten-year speculation figures of those operations desiring to mine asteroids.

How And Why We Got Into The Aerospace Business:

Neil Armstrong’s famous step and giant leap for mankind was a great inspiration for a generation of potential future space travelers. For us, it was the end of a beginning. Others viewed the Apollo lunar landings as wasteful government spending on what essentially was a national prestige publicity stunt. For them, instead, it was the beginning of the end. Thus, in the tug-of-war that typically defines national politics, the space program was decimated while valuable science and engineering talent rotted on the vine. In many respects, it really was a shameful period in US history.

Throughout this inglorious period of time, however, some valiant souls tried to revive the ailing space program. These mavericks always seemed to curiously settle on the same themes of earth orbit and lunar surface colonization, with the one unifying and recurring concept being the reusability of space vehicles. The funny thing is, they were onto something big, but never got to finish their dreams. But we, of the New Mexico STAR Group, have picked up their gauntlet. We can finish what they started!

What we discovered was a shocking truth: every single one of these well-intentioned ideas for a space program consistently ignored one of the most important equations in all of rocketry: funding. Funding is what makes rockets fly; it is as important an equation as any Hohmann Transfer Orbit equation. To ignore this fundamental truth is to doom any space endeavor to never leaving the ground (so to speak). “No bucks, no Buck Rogers” was a famous saying among the rocket brethren of yore. It is as true today as it was back then.

So what makes us so different from everybody else? What is our solution to the funding equation? The answer can be summed up in one shocking sentence:

“We know how to make an 11-figure profit in space.”

Let us show you how. Everything in our proposal is substantiated and corroborated; it is all laid out step-by-step in an easy to understand manner. You do not have to be a rocket scientist anymore to get into the space business. And if you do happen to be a rocket scientist, then you will appreciate what we have done.

This really is an exciting opportunity to do it right this time in space. We would make history, and we would inspire the next generation of potential future space travelers. Wouldn’t it be nice for once to make some money while we’re doing all that inspiring and history making?

For more information, click on our website, and feel free to contact us by email. We’d love to tell you more!

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH: Championing A Healthy And Just World!

FOE

FOE

WHO WE ARE:

Friends of the Earth is fighting to defend the environment and create a more healthy and just world. We’re progressive environmental advocates who pull no punches and speak sometimes uncomfortable truths to power. It’s an approach that for four decades has yielded victories protecting our planet and its people. We’re part of Friends of the Earth International, a federation of grassroots groups working in 76 countries on today’s most urgent environmental and social issues. Our current campaigns focus on promoting clean energy and solutions to climate change, keeping toxic and risky technologies out of the food we eat and products we use, and protecting marine ecosystems and the people who live and work near them.

Friends of the Earth is led by Erich Pica, a leading expert on how federal tax dollars subsidize pollution. Our dedicated staff fight to protect the rights of all people to live in a safe and healthy environment, both at home or in countries around the world. Our campaigns demonstrate our belief that the fight for justice and the movement to protect the health of the planet are part of the same struggle. Our members and activists support this work and act as a grassroots base of support that mobilizes to promote public policies that are good for people and the planet.

OUR IMPACT:

Over the last 40 years, Friends of the Earth members, activists and staff have:

• Eliminated billions in taxpayer subsidies to corporate polluters;• Reformed the World Bank to address environmental and human rights concerns;• Pushed the debate on global warming to pressure the U.S. to attempt the best legislation possible;• Stopped more than 150 destructive dams and water projects worldwide;• Pressed and won landmark regulations of strip mines and oil tankers; andBanned international whaling.

To learn about some of our more recent accomplishments, check out our list of victories from 2009.

OUR STRATEGY:

Friends of the Earth, as an outspoken leader in the environmental and progressive communities, seeks to change the perception of the public, media and policy makers–and effect policy change–with hard-hitting, well-reasoned policy analysis and advocacy campaigns that describe what needs to be done, rather than what is seen as politically feasible or politically correct. This hard-hitting advocacy has been the key to our successful campaigns over our 40-year history.

OUR INTERNATIONAL SCOPE:

Friends of the Earth U.S. is a part of Friends of the Earth International, the world’s largest grassroots environmental federation. Friends of the Earth International unites 76 national member groups and some 5,000 local activist groups on every continent. Friends of the Earth’s Health and Environment Campaigner, Ian Illuminato, is currently serving on the Executive Committee, which is the governing body of the network.

FRIENDS OF THE EARTH. . .we fight to protect our planetary home, for it’s the only real and necessary home we have to protect.

THE PEW CHARITABLE TRUSTS

http://www.pewenvironment.org/

OUR MISSION:

The mission of the Pew Environment Group, the conservation arm of The Pew Charitable Trusts, is to help meet what we view as one of the seminal challenges of our time: saving the natural environment and protecting the rich array of life it supports.

Our aim is to strengthen environmental policies and practices in ways that produce significant and measurable protection for terrestrial and marine systems worldwide. In doing so, we work to advance scientific understanding of the causes and consequences of environmental problems, design innovative policy solutions to these problems and mobilize public support for their implementation.

OUR STORY:

Pew’s environmental activities have grown steadily over the past two decades, as has our staff of scientists, campaign advocates, economists, communications professionals and attorneys throughout the United States and in Canada, Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

 Public Land and Wilderness Protection

Over the past two decades, Pew has played a prominent role in preserving wilderness and other wild and biologically diverse public land in the United States, Canada and, most recently, Australia. Since 1990, Pew’s campaigns have resulted in permanent protections of more than 265 million acres—an area 2.5 times larger than the state of California.

In the United States, our work is focused on securing protective status for ecologically significant areas in Alaska and the lower 48 states that are open to development, which we have identified as prime candidates for preservation through legislative or administrative designation. Largely overseen by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, these vast and varied landscapes include old-growth forests, grasslands, sagebrush steppes, high deserts, great basins, Arctic tundra and mountains.

A cornerstone of our work is to give America’s wildest and most biologically diverse areas the nation’s highest form of protection by adding them to the National Wilderness Preservation System. Since 2002, campaigns by Pew and its partners have resulted in the designation by Congress of 4.6 million acres of additional wilderness in 14 states and Puerto Rico. Pew also has been instrumental in protecting our last undeveloped national forests through the landmark Roadless Area Conservation Rule, an administrative policy issued in 2001 that restricts most commercial logging and road-building on these pristine lands.

In Canada, we focus on protecting the country’s boreal forest, one of the world’s largest remaining expanses of old growth that teems with wildlife and provides critical nesting grounds for almost half of all North American migratory songbirds and waterfowl. Canada’s boreal forest rivals the Amazon Rain Forest in size and ecological importance, capturing and absorbing twice as much carbon dioxide as tropical forests, which helps fight climate change.

Since 2002, Pew has worked closely with Canadian and international environmental organizations, corporations and aboriginal First Nations to develop the Boreal Forest Conservation Framework, a visionary plan to protect and sustain this globally important ecosystem through the creation of parks, refuges and sustainable development. In 2010, Pew played a critical role in brokering a historic agreement between environmental groups and the forest products industry to protect more than 185 million acres of forestland—twice the size of the U.S. National Park System—through designation and sustainable development.

Australia contains some of the world’s last great wilderness areas, with nearly a billion acres still largely intact. From lush savannahs to arid deserts, its multiple ecosystems are home to an astonishing and exotic array of species found nowhere else on Earth. Through its Wild Australia program, Pew is involved in an ambitious effort to protect millions of acres of the continent’s most important wildlands and tens of thousands of square miles of its oceans that hold globally significant biodiversity.

THE NATURE CONSERVANCY: The World’s Leading Conservation Organization

NATURE CONSERVANCY

OUR MISSION:

Founded in 1951, the Conservancy is the world’s leading conservation organization. The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

How do we achieve this mission?

  • Through the dedicated efforts of our diverse staff, including more than 550 scientists, located in all 50 U.S. states and 32 countries.
  • With the help of our many partners, from individuals and governments to local nonprofits and corporations.
  • By using a non-confrontational, collaborative approach and staying true to our five unique core values.

That’s how The Nature Conservancy has done more than anyone else to advance conservation around the world since our founding in 1951.

OUR VISION:

Our vision is to leave a sustainable world for future generations.

Today’s society faces unprecedented challenges. Dwindling natural resources, declining economies, a rapidly changing climate and other threats require that all of us begin working together to reach common solutions.

More than ever before, we must find innovative ways to ensure that nature can continue to provide the food, clean water, energy and other services our growing population depends upon for survival.

Now is a time of opportunity. A time to move conservation from the sidelines of global priorities to the center of the world stage—because human wellbeing depends on a healthy, diverse environment.

Why we’re effective is because we have done more than anyone else to advance conservation in the last 50 years. Please help us keep up this mission. Become a member!
